Well, we have finally reached the finish line!!!  Hoorah.  After a year and a half of creating, composing, editing, re-editing, touching up, polishing, debating, designing, re-designing etc we have finally got the finished product that you have all been waiting for.

The second album from Kashi Kollective.

After a lot of debate about the design for this new album, and some help from planxdesign down on the coast, we finally got the designs we were after and thanks to MPO in Madrid, the discs were printed this week and shipped.

Yesterday I went down with my lovely partner Kim and we met the delivery man.  We were wondering how many boxes of cd’s will 1000 discs take up, and we were both wrong.  There were 40 boxes of 25 discs, ouch!  It filled the back of our car easily and is now a new sound trap in my studio!!  I hope to see these boxes quickly disappear and pray that our fans worldwide will get out their cards and visit our shop page.

I have to say that things are much different compared to the last album.  I was quite burned out after the first release and didn’t want to see the inside of the studio for a month.  Now, however, I am already deep into a new project of much more danceable tracks, using some new techniques to twist and contort the sounds of the tabla.  Its a new sound that I haven’t heard anywhere else, besides one track on a Talvin Singh album, so hopefully it will take the world by storm.

The album is dedicated to the genres of Relaxation, Chill Out, Ambient Fusion and is an ideal accompaniment for all of your spiritual practices, including Yoga, Meditation, Chakra Healing and Alternative Therapies. 

In contrast with the first album, The Space Between, which is more of a journey through soundscapes and various genres, incorporating beats at times and very tranquil phsychodelic compositions, Shadow and Light sticks to a strict formula.

This formula was devised by the composer, Stephen Bellm, and John Rawsthorne, the producer.  Ethnic percussion plays an integral part that merges these compositions together.  No electronic beats or harsh sounds are included, just soothing acoustic instruments and  easy floating melodies on woodwinds. 

The Kollective are happy to include some very fine new artists into the mix.  From Rajendra Teredesai, a Bansuri maestro from India, to Rafael Tejada, a fine percussionist from Spain.  Once you put this album on your player you will find yourself in peace, and the time flies by as each composition blends itself into your practice or routine.
